Creative Donation Ideas

Anniversary Wishes
You would like to invite friends and family to a gathering to celebrate your 20th, 25th or maybe even your 50th wedding anniversary, and you definitely do not need another toaster. Why not ask your guests to commemorate this milestone in your life by making a donation to the FoodBank in honor of this special occasion!
Wedding Favors
Share the joy of your momentous day with those in need by making a donation to the FoodBank on behalf of your guests.
Beautifully scripted cards placed at each guest’s table inform them of your contribution in their honor and make an excellent wedding favor. Share the gift of love in honor of the start of your lives together!
Congratulations from the Office
If it is an office practice to remember a special occasion for an officemate by collecting funds and contributing to a gift, why not suggest that a donation be made to the FoodBank from your department? Everyone feels good about a gift that keeps giving.

Happy Birthday!
Experience the joy of giving by requesting that your friends and family members contribute to the FoodBank to honor your birthday. What a meaningful way to celebrate your birthday!
In Memory of
Continue the goodwill and legacy of your loved one’s life by making a donation in your loved one’s name, or by arranging a donation memorial with the FoodBank.
At your request, a card will be sent to the family of the deceased, acknowledging your contribution in their loved one’s name.

Host an Event
Looking for a unique way to support the FoodBank? Events are fun ways to raise awareness of hunger issues, while helping to ensure that no one goes hungry. You can host an event to benefit the FoodBank with your friends, business or other organization, such as:
- Golf Tournaments, Dance Competitions, Talent Shows, Fashion Shows, Art Shows
- Marathons, Racing Events, Road Rallies
- Wine Tastings, Black-Tie events, Cocktail Parties
- Auctions, Grand Openings, Store Promotions
- Car Washes, Craft Shows, Bake Sales, Empty Bowls events
- Casual Days, Holiday Parties
- Bike-a-thon, Walk-a-thon, Bowl-a-thon, Workout-a-thon, Dance-a-thon, etc.
The events can be as large or small as you like. The only limit is your imagination.
Due to staff time constraints, we cannot personally participate in each event that is proposed. However, we are happy to provide you with any information or materials about the FoodBank to distribute at your event.
We ask all individuals and organizations to submit a Fundraiser Registration prior to the event. This helps to clarify the activities and expectations for all parties. We will return a signed copy to you for your constituency.
We appreciate your interest in fundraising for the FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties, and we look forward to working with you! Please contact the Special Events Coordinator with any questions you may have.

Become a Monthly Donor

Please help The FoodBank fight hunger throughout the year…
Fighting hunger is so much more than providing a family with a meal during the holiday season.
It is an ongoing struggle. To make a real difference, we need to help, with reliable resources, all year. That’s why we created the FoodBank Monthly Giving Program. As a monthly donor, you can give regular support to those in need by having a fixed sum transferred from your checking or savings account to The FoodBank each month.
Monthly gifts let us know in advance how much support we have, so we can budget our resources and plan ahead. And quite honestly, because we don’t have to print cards for special appeals, or later open envelopes and record gifts, it helps to keep our administrative costs low.
You can stop the automatic transfers at any time, as well as increase or decrease your pledge. Just write the FoodBank and we will arrange for whatever change you would like to make. Besides your monthly checking account statement showing the date and amount of the transfer to The FoodBank, we will send you a year-end statement listing in January listing your contributions for the year (for tax purposes).
To enroll as a member of the FoodBank Monthly Giving Program, simply complete and return the Monthly Donor Form.
Setup a Corporate Match from your Employer
Many companies direct their charitable giving programs through matching gifts.
When an employee notifies the company that he or she has made a charitable donation, the company makes a gift of the same amount–in some cases double the amount–to the same charitable organization. Matching gift programs are a wonderful way for employees to stretch their charitable dollars at no cost to themselves.
Simply ask your company’s human resource office, personnel department or community relations office if your company has a matching gift program. If so, ask for a matching gift form.
Companies with matching gift programs that have donated to the FoodBank include:
