2007 SCHOOLS HOLIDAY HUNGER CHALLENGE
FOOD DRIVE
The FoodBank of
Monmouth and Ocean Counties challenges all students to think of those less
fortunate this holiday season, by running a Holiday Hunger Food Drive at
their school, during the period through November 12.
THE CHALLENGE:
$5,000 in CASH PRIZES – CHAMPION AWARD

The Breeze Kids Care
One school in
each school category in each county
(Monmouth and Ocean) that raises the
most pounds of
food per student will receive a $500.00 cash prize presented at a
special ceremony at the FoodBank. Second place prizes of $250 will also be
awarded.
The school district that raises the most pounds of food
per student overall will receive the 2007 Schools
Holiday Hunger Challenge Champion Award Trophy.
Cash prizes are sponsored by OceanFirst Bank,
and Rittenhouse Kerr Ford. All cash prizes will be awarded to the club or
organization that
registers the event
and coordinates or oversees the Holiday Hunger Challenge food drive at their
school.
Holiday Hunger Challenge Coordinator
Each school
must nominate and register a non-student Hunger
Challenge Coordinator, such as a parent, club advisor or PTA
member, who will communicate directly with the FoodBank. The Hunger
Challenge Coordinator will oversee and organize all aspects of the Holiday
Hunger Challenge at their school.

The goal of the
Schools Holiday Hunger Challenge is to provide compete family meals. Each
grade is designated a specific food
item.

WIN $250 FOR BEST
DRESSED TURKEY
For younger
kids, to add excitement to the event, the FoodBank has created a
“Gobble Up Hunger”
game as a classroom activity.
